Undergraduate Students

Freshman (or First-Year Student)

You are considered a freshman student if you are currently enrolled in high school (even if you’ve completed college credits while in high school), or you’ve graduated from high school and have never attended college.

Transfer

You are considered a transfer student if you have graduated from high school and are enrolled at a college or university.

Non-Degree

You are considered a non-degree student if are not planning to attend George Mason University as a degree-seeking student, not planning to attend Mason full time, and are not planning to apply to a degree program.

International

You are considered an international student if you are not a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. International students usually need an F1 or J1 visa to study in the United States.
