Notes
Total Minimum Credits for Northern Virginia Community College A.S. Degree in Science equals 60 to 65.
MATH 113, 114 are 4 credits each, giving the student math elective credit at Mason.
For the BS in Astronomy, 17 hours of Mathematics is required. The additional three math credits needed to be taken at Mason are MATH 313 or 314, Introduction to Applied Mathematics.
For the Astronomy, BS at Mason, students may choose an area of emphasis, which includes Astrobiology, Computational Astronomy and graduate school preparation. Students who wish to complete an emphasis should plan a program of study in consultation with their advisors at Mason.
Please Note: Not all NVCC Humanities/Fine Arts electives qualify as General Education Elective requirements (i.e. ENG 211-212, Creative Writing I&II and ART 121-122, Drawing I&II) for NVCC.
