Notes

Civil and Infastructure Engineering majors have an option for undergraduate certificates in Applied Statistics and Operations Research and Engineering offered by Mason's School of Information Technology and Engineering, and Environmental Management offered by Mason's Biology Department. Civil and Infastructure Engineering majors may apply for a Business minor also. Consult the Mason catalog for more information.

Some of the engineering programs at the community colleges differ slightly, which means that the students must work closely with their NVCC Faculty Advisor to obtain the appropriate Petition for Substitution and Waiver forms in order to graduate in the engineering major at a NVCC institution.

Please Note: Not all NVCC Humanities/Fine Arts electives qualify as General Education Elective requirements (i.e. ENG 211-212, Creative Writing I&II and ART 121-122, Drawing I&II) for NVCC.

Mason offers many discipline and interdisciplinary minors. Consult the Mason catalog.

While other VCCS courses may also qualify for some of the categories above, we have included those that are most often available. We strongly recommend that you work closely with your VCCS Counselor or Faculty Advisor to assure the most appropriate choices for your major.
