General Education Requirements
The mission of George Mason University's General Education Program is to educate, liberate and broaden the mind and to instill a lifelong love of learning. The program is divided into three areas: 1) Foundation requirements - written communication, oral communication, information technology and quantitative reasoning; 2) Core requirements - literature, fine arts, western civilization, social & behavioral science, global understanding and natural science; and 3) a Synthesis requirement.
