This is a recommended program of study for students planning to obtain an Associate in Science Degree in General Studies at Northern Virginia Community College and transfer to George Mason University for a Bachelor of Science  (B.S.) in Athletic Training, or Health and Physical Education, or a Bachelor of Science in Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources, with a Concentration in: Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Parks and Outdoor Recreation, Sports Management, Therapeutic Recreation or Tourism and Events Management.

Total Minimum Credits for the Northern Virginia Community College A.S. Degree in General Studies is 60.

Please Note: Not all NVCC Humanities/Fine Arts electives qualify as General Education Elective requirements (i.e. ENG 211-212, Creative Writing I&II and ART 121-122, Drawing I&II) for NVCC.

For a B.S.in Athletic Training and/or a B.S. in Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources, majors will need to take STAT 250 as a prerequisite to Mason's Research Methods (PRLS 450).
