Virginia Community College System (VCCS) Transfer Guide
Integrative Studies, B.A./B.S. (New Century College)
This is a recommended program of study for students planning to transfer to George Mason University for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in Integrative Studies. Students may choose from a range of interdisciplinary degree paths or work with a faculty advisor to develop a new track based on your interests. The BAIN Concentrations include advertising, arts and culture, child and family studies, conservation studies, education (elementary, UTEEM, special education, language arts for education and social science for education), information and society, international studies, leadership studies, legal studies, organizational administration, and public and community engagement. The BSIN Concentrations include conservation studies, natural science for education and life sciences (pre-medical, pre-physician's assistant, pre-physical therapy, pre-occupational therapy, pre-dental, and pre-pharmacy). Since each choice will incorporate different course requirements, prospective students should (1) work closely with your VCCS Counselor or Faculty Advisor to assure the most appropriate choices while at a VCCS school, and (2) schedule an appointment with an academic advisor at New Century college (703.993.1436). The NCC offices are located on the fourth floor of Enterprise Hall. Our website (http://ncc.gmu.edu) has extensive information which will be useful to you as you consider our programs.

Notes
Students may transfer to Mason's Integrative Studies program at any time from the end of the first semester to after the completion of an Associate's degree. It is recommended that students complete a minimum of 30 hours at NVCC. Students wishing to obtain an Associate's degree at NVCC prior to transferring need to work closely with a NVCC Counselor or Faculty Advisor. New Century College's Integrative Studies advisors strongly recommend that prospective students schedule a meeting with them.

While other VCCS courses may also qualify for some of the categories above, we have included those that are most often available. We strongly recommend that you work closely with your VCCS Counselor or Faculty Advisor to assure the most appropriate choices for your major.
