Request George Mason University Ambassadors

Thank you for considering the Mason Ambassadors during your next important event! The backbone of this organization involves providing our volunteers with the opportunity to make a lasting impression upon the George Mason University community, and we sincerely appreciate your interest in their services.

The Mason Ambassadors have been called upon on numerous occasions to serve as student liaisons at some of the University’s most prestigious events. Previous service opportunities include hosting the 2002 Capital Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser and annual Alumni Affairs Celebration of Distinction, leading a tour for direct descendants of George Mason, and assisting with the grand opening celebration of new laboratories in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Ambassadors regularly provide assistance for departments throughout the University by:

• Leading campus tours for special groups, visiting dignitaries and candidates contending for premiere University positions, or other special guests.
• Hosting special or unique events.
• Giving presentations or speaking on panels to share experiences of campus life or other University services from a student’s perspective.
• Various other functions that promote a sense of pride and spirit among the Mason community, particularly those involving prospective student outreach initiatives.

Please remember that Mason Ambassadors is a volunteer leadership organization and requests for our services may not include tasks normally assigned to clerical staff, food service personnel, parking and traffic aids, or University police. Keep in mind that our volunteers are first and foremost students at George Mason University, and their ability to participate in volunteer activities is affected by their class and work schedules.

Priority consideration will be given to requests submitted at least ten business days before the event date. While every attempt will be made to accommodate each request, you should await confirmation from a Mason Ambassador faculty adviser before including any ambassadors in your final event plans.
