For Mason graduate Nicole Livas, television news is the family business. Following in the footsteps of her mother, a popular TV reporter in the 1970s and the first African American female newscaster in Hampton Roads, Livas worked as a newscaster around the country before returning home to Virginia to anchor the news. An award-winning reporter, she frequently visits with journalism students to share her experience and inspire a future generation of broadcasters.
