Supporting Documents to be sent to Mason’s Office of Admissions:

Official high school transcript
Transcripts must be sent directly from the high school from which you are graduating. If you are a dual-enrollment student in college coursework and those courses do not appear on your high school records you must also submit an official college transcript showing your current course enrollment.

Official ACT or SAT scores
Official score reports must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions by the testing agency. Qualified Score Optional Freshman applicants are exempt from this requirement.

Secondary School Report/Profile
You may use the Mason Secondary School Report (PDF), or we will accept a NACAC or individual school’s profile.

Letters of Recommendation (optional)
The Office of Admissions will accept a maximum of two ONE PAGE letters of recommendation; there is no required recommendation form. Letters received in excess of the maximum will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Recommendations should be sent online using the online application.

Video Essay (optional)
If you would like to submit an optional video essay, please upload a video no longer that 2 minutes to YouTube and send your video link to http://admissions.gmu.edu/VideoEssay/. Here is one of our favorite video essays from last year.

Credit by Exam
If you have completed AP or IB exams, send those official transcripts directly from the testing agency.

Domicile
If you applied for in-state tuition rates, be sure to check your domicile status and provide any requested documentation within 30 days of application. If the requested documentation (most often Virginia income tax forms) is not provided, you will be classified as an out-of-state student for tuition purposes.
